Which beach to choose with kids

Nungwi beach

For children, the north coast is the simplest choice: Kendwa is swimmable at any hour, Nungwi offers more restaurants and excursions. The east coast (Paje, Jambiani, Bwejuu) is beautiful but the tide limits swimming; see Zanzibar's beaches. Some beaches have little shade: hat, UV clothing and sunscreen.

Excursions suited to children

For diving and snorkelling with young children, ask the club for the minimum age: we found no official rule. Chumbe shows a reduced fee for ages 5 to 15 and free entry under 5 (see the Chumbe page).

Hotels with kids' clubs

Health and safety
